When
your web site needs integration with a database, communication
with QuickBooks, Act! or Goldmine,
or even response forms that send emails, many "Web firms"
just don't have the skills.
From
Website design, to back-end database design, to high-end Web applications
programming, our development experience separates us from other
"Web firms."
Utilizing
our software engineering background, proven methodology,
and corporate applications experience, we will deliver a product you
can be proud of. We have sucessfully completed projects for Fortune
500 corporations as well as small businesses.
Cutting
Edge Computing was instrumental in helping produce the Stellix Commercial
Automotive Body Shop Management System.
We spent
nearly 2 years working with ADP and Lockheed developers on this multi-million
dollar project. Along with our development responsibilities, our staff
had several roles on the project. These included technical advisor,
consultant, and mentor to Automatic Data Processings internal
MIS staff. It has been said that this application will redefine how
automotive body shops use information systems.

Lacking the internal expertise to maintain the
CEMS and RIS applications, EDS has contracted with CEC to maintain and
enhance this critical software.
The web-based CEMS (Change Event Management System)
was in dire need of work. This intranet system is used corporate-wide
to give the general user population access to knowledge of system and
network outages. The bug list had grown out of control and users were
frustrated. While, originally hired to supplement existing staff members,
we eventually had to take on the entire project. We reverse engineered
the existing system to grasp the scope. Then, after creating a project
plan which included user acceptance testing, we were able to deliver
a system that was met with rave reviews. Written using HTML, Powersoft
WEB.PB, ORACLE and Javascript.
To implement the requirements for the enhancement of RIS Resource Inventory
System, we had to refactor several sections of the architecture. After
laying this foundation, we were able to easily document and extend the
system to include several new subsystems and features. This also established
a firm base for future enhancements. Written in PowerBuilder 5.0 with
PFC.

Using ORACLE and PowerBuilder, General Physics simulates
the internal systems of nuclear power plants across the country. We
helped to debug and enhance their simulators by creating ORACLE stored
procedures and creating new Powerbuilder 6.5 code.

A web interface
to an existing billing feeder system was needed, Chevron turned to CEC.
We designed and programmed the Web interface and business logic code
for the IT Bill Cost Object Repository. Along the way we created programmer
design documents, mentored Chevron IT personnel, and created a management
reporting system as a bonus! Written using Active Server Pages, COM,
VBscript, JavaScript, ORACLE, PL/SQL.
--
The Safety
Database project was supposed to help project managers understand what
saftey equipment was required at Chevron's many facilities. The problem
was that because of it's interface, it was virutally unusable.
We jumped in and redesigned and streamlined the Web interface, created
supporting code, and created management reporting system using Active
Server Pages, COM, VBscript, JavaScript, ORACLE.

When Chevron
Information Technology needed a reporting tool for their IT Finance
group they called us. We took their sparse 3-year-old specs and reverse
engineered the existing system to grasp the scope. We then took our
specs and worked them into a web-based Management Reporting Tool. Written
using Active Server Pages, Javascript, and ORACLE.
--
Creating
a bridge to legacy data for Chevron Chemical is no small task. The Bridges
product was completed on schedule.

With
the success of corporate-wide software distribution at stake, we are
updating and are enhancing the GADS (Global Application Distribution
System) system to include a security model. Written using Active Server
Pages (ASP), Active X, COM and PowerBuilder 5 w/ PFC.
